Mayor Adams inherited several crises from the de Blasio administration. He inherited a public safety crisis with rampant gun violence and high crime throughout the city. Police officers are retiring in droves because they’re tired of being attacked by the woke mob.

He inherited a two-part education crisis with 65% of Black and Hispanic students not reading, writing, or doing math at grade level as well as an under-enrollment crisis with the school system hemorrhaging students because parents are fed up with their children not learning.

He inherited a school safety crisis with a severe shortage of School Safety Agents. Today, we already have twice the number of weapons confiscated compared to last year, and schools with only one School Safety Agent.

And now, the latest inherited crisis is a fiscal crisis because the city has no money and is facing a future $10 billion dollar deficit. All city agencies have been advised that they must cut their budgets by 3% for this fiscal year ending June 2023. For the 2023/2024 fiscal year, they must cut 4.75% from their budgets.
