On Friday, November 10th, Salford, Greater Manchester, was shaken by a harrowing incident when Perseverance Ncube, a 35-year-old mother, was fatally stabbed at her home in Little Hulton. Known as Percy, Ncube’s death has left a deep void in a community now grappling with grief and disbelief.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) reported that Ncube suffered a fatal stab wound to the chest. Tragically, her two young children discovered her in this critical state. Despite prompt medical attention, she succumbed to her injuries. In connection with this devastating event, 45-year-old Obert Moyo has been charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon. Moyo, from Bolton, is scheduled to appear at Bolton Magistrates Court.

The local community, profoundly affected by the tragedy, organized a candlelit vigil near Ncube’s residence on Saturday night. Friends and neighbors gathered to honor her memory, with one church friend describing her as a “real angel,” a testament to the Impact of her untimely passing.

Ncube’s family, in a heartrending statement, remembered her as a loving mother, a devoted church member, and a community pillar. They said, “She was a loving and devoted mother who lived for her children, family, and friends. Percy was an active member of her church and had created a beautiful community for herself and her children, but she was cruelly taken from us due to domestic violence.”

The statement continued, “Percy had just celebrated her 35th birthday in October, and her passing has left us with an immeasurable sense of loss. Our focus now is on supporting her children as they continue their journey without their mother.”

Detective Chief Inspector Gina Brennand of GMP’s Major Incident Team highlighted the horrific nature of the crime, particularly distressing as it was witnessed by Ncube’s children. The police are conducting an extensive investigation and have appealed for public assistance, requesting any relevant footage from the early hours of that fateful Friday.

This incident not only represents a profound loss for Ncube’s family but also underscores the broader societal challenge of domestic violence. It serves as a stark reminder of the need for vigilance, support, and preventive measures in addressing this pervasive issue.
