Police are intensifying their investigation into the tragic death of 69-year-old grandmother Robin Wright, who was fatally struck by a stray bullet in East Harlem on Wednesday afternoon.
Wright, a longtime Harlem resident, had just picked up lunch when she was shot in the face near East 110th Street and Madison Avenue around 12:30 pm.
The NYPD is reviewing surveillance footage, canvassing the area, and urging witnesses to come forward. Detectives believe the suspects fled north on Madison Avenue.
Mayor Eric Adams and city officials condemned the violence, while community leaders called for stronger safety measures. No arrests have been made.
