Over 70 faith leaders from across New York City have endorsed Andrew Cuomo in his bid for mayor, representing pastors, bishops, apostles, and ministers from congregations in all five boroughs. The coalition cited Cuomo’s record of collaborating with faith-based organizations and his focus on restoring safety, opportunity, and unity across the city.
Cuomo expressed gratitude for the endorsements, highlighting the critical role faith leaders play in supporting communities. “Faith leaders are the backbone of our communities: they feed the hungry, lift up families, and help heal our city’s soul,” he explained. “I am honored to have the support of so many respected pastors, bishops, and apostles who share a mission to make New York safer, stronger, and more compassionate. Together, we will rebuild this city from the ground up, with faith, hope, and action.”
Reverend Dr. Renee F. Washington Gardner highlighted Cuomo’s commitment to local communities, noting that he “understands that real leadership means bringing people together, not dividing them.” Reverend Susanna Rivera Leon of The Sanctuary Church added that Cuomo has “the strength, the experience, and the heart to restore safety, dignity, and opportunity” across New York neighborhoods.
