The Labor Strong 2021 Coalition has announced their endorsements for Bronx candidates running for City Council. Labor Strong 2021 consists of five New York City unions:

  • SEIU 32BJ
  • Communications Workers of America, District 1
  • District Council 37
  • Hotel Trades Council
  • New York State Nurses Association

The endorsements continue to pile up for Althea Stevens running in District 16 and Kevin Riley running in District 12. Riley, the current city councilman for District 12, who recently won a special election on December 22, still has to run in the June primary.

Stevens a strong labor supporter said: “NYC’s labor unions will be essential to the recovery of our city and I’m excited to work closely with them to protect the rights of our workers.”

Stevens and Riley were featured in our Meet The Candidate video interview series last year. Learn more about these candidates, why they are running, their history of community service, their policies, and how they are going to support Bronxites.
