A 16-year-old girl was fatally stabbed during a dispute inside a Bronx deli earlier this week, and a 17-year-old girl has been charged in connection with the attack, according to the NYPD.
Police responded to reports of a stabbing around 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 15th, at a deli located near Boston Road and Mitchell Avenue in the Williamsbridge neighborhood. Officers discovered the victim, identified as Aliyah Williams, with stab wounds to her face, chest, and body. She was transported to Jacobi Medical Center in critical condition and later pronounced dead.
Authorities arrested a 17-year-old girl later that evening around 7:30 p.m. She is facing charges of murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon. Her identity has not been released due to her age.
Williams lived a short distance from the deli. Her grandmother, Rose Anderson, who visited the scene after leaving the hospital, shared that Williams had been involved in a confrontation before the stabbing. She described her granddaughter as a kind and well-mannered teen and expressed grief over the loss, stating she hopes Williams’ soul “rest in peace.”
The investigation remains ongoing.
