New York Voice News Welcomes Tony Herbert as Contributor and Launches “The Advocate’s Corner”

New York, NY — New York Voice News is proud to announce that Tony Herbert, a respected community advocate and public affairs professional, has joined the publication as a regular contributor. Herbert will author op-eds focused on civic engagement, social justice, and community empowerment. His new column, “The Advocate’s Corner,” will debut today as a dedicated space for advocacy-driven dialogue, highlighting the issues, voices, and solutions that shape New York’s communities.

Tony Herbert brings more than 25 years of experience in community relations, government affairs, and civic leadership. Most recently, he served in the Office of the Mayor of New York City as the Citywide NYCHA Liaison and Brooklyn Borough Director, where he represented the Mayor’s office across hundreds of public housing developments, managing relations with community leaders, tenant associations, and advocacy organizations. His leadership helped strengthen citywide communication between residents and municipal agencies, while driving tangible improvements in housing, safety, and resident engagement.

Throughout his distinguished career, Herbert has served as President of The Advocates Without Borders Network, and Statewide Director of African American Outreach for the New York State Senate Democratic Caucus. His early experience as Special Assistant to U.S. Congressman Edolphus Towns and Deputy Chief of Staff to NYC Councilwoman Priscilla Wooten cemented his reputation as a dedicated public servant with a lifelong commitment to advocacy and inclusion.

In addition to his government and nonprofit leadership, Herbert has held roles in the private sector, including as a Community Relations Specialist for IHI Power and Business Concierge at North Fork/Capital One Bank, where he developed key partnerships with small business owners and civic stakeholders. His professional and civic influence extends across organizations such as the NAACP, the National Urban Black Cowboy Alliance, and the Urban Civil Service Network, among others.

“Tony’s voice has been a guiding force in communities across New York City,” said Mymoena Kalinisan-Davids, Editor-in-Chief of New York Voice News. “His insights, passion, and experience make him the perfect voice for The Advocate’s Corner — a platform designed to inform, empower, and elevate the stories that matter most.”

Tony Herbert’s first column for The Advocate’s Corner will appear online at www.NewYorkVoiceNews.com.
